RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s golfer of the week for the eighth week of the fall season. Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Freya Sala earned the honor following her performance at the Midwestern State Women’s Invitational.

Sala captured the medalist honors after defeating Midwestern State’s Alli Reily with a birdie on the first hole of a playoff. After an opening round 3-over par 75, she followed up with a 2-under 70 and an even-par 72 to finish at 1-over. In the second round, she made six birdies. She led the 78-player field in par-3 scoring, 2.75, and tied for the lead with 12 birdies.
