RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s golfer of the week for the sixth week of the fall season. Arkansas Tech’s Jaylee Castro earned the women’ award and Harding’s Dennis Staykov claimed the men’s honor.

Castro shattered the school and GAC single-round single-round record when she carded a 7-under par 64 in the final round of the Grace Shin Invitational. She made six birdies and an eagle. She broke the GAC record of 65 shared by Henderson State’s Gracen Blount and Lily Nelson. She moved up 51 places to a tie for fifth. Her first round also included an eagle.

#theGAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Dennis Staykov, Jr., Harding, Sofia, Bulgaria
Staykov captured his second-straight Golfer of the Week accolade after he finished second at the MWSU Holiday Inn Express Invitational. He posted rounds of 2-over 73 and 2-under 69 to post even par. He made six birdies for the tournament and eagled the par-4 fifth hole to jump-start his second round. His 4.00 par-4 scoring tied for the tournament best.
