#theGAC WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK (WEEK 16)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the final GAC women’s track & field athletes of the week for the 2026 outdoor season. Harding swept the awards as Tetiana Kharashchuk captured the track honor and Cadence Sansom earned the field accolade.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Tetiana Kharashchuk, Sr., Harding, Kolomiya, Ukraine
At the John McDonnell Invitational, Kharashchuk broke a 12-year-old school record in the 800-meter run after she posted a time of 2:09.52 and finished second. Her time ranks 28th nationally. She anchored the school record-breaking 4×100 meter relay run that finished sixth in 45.54 seconds. The team’s time ranks 17th nationally.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Cadence Sansom, Sr., Harding, Lago Vista, Texas
Sansom cleared 4.12 meters in the pole vault at the John McDonnell Invitational to break the four-year-old school record. She finished second overall in a field that featured five Division I competitors. Her clearance ranks first in the GAC and seventh in Division II. She ranks as the only GAC female pole vaulter to have cleared 4.00 meters.
