RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the softball players of the week for the 11th week of the 2024 season. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Rosemary Rivera won Player of the Week while Southern Arkansas’ Brinson Rogers earned Pitcher of the Week.
#theGAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Rosemary Rivera, 3B, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., Jewett, Texas
Rivera went 7-for-15 across five games with six extra-base hits. In a doubleheader split with Southwestern Oklahoma State she doubled twice and scored a run. She hit three home runs, drove in seven runs and scored six runs against Arkansas-Monticello. She hit two home runs, including a grand slam, in game one. She raised her average 36 points in the five-game stretch.
#theGAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Brinson Rogers, RHP, Southern Arkansas, Jr., Statesboro, Georgia
Rogers threw 10.0 scoreless innings in the Muleriders’ three-game sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State. She entered in relief in game one and registered two hitless innings with four strikeouts to collect a save. She threw her fifth shutout of the season with a two-hit gem in game two. She earned a win in relief in game three as SAU won in its last at bat.
