Spiro High School graduate, Logan Carter, has been awarded an Esports scholarship through Carl Albert State College in Poteau, Oklahoma for the upcoming school year.
2022-2023 Spiro Esports Coach Seth Rogers stated, “Logan will be competing as one of CASC’s Madden players. Logan competed in Madden and various other titles last year in the Oklahoma Scholastic Esports League. He placed in the top 12 of Madden players in the league and made it to the final round of regional playoffs in the fall. Logan was highly dedicated to improving his skills throughout the year in all his competitive titles. He also competed on our Call of Duty team, which won 3rd Place in Fall State Playoffs. Throughout the year, Logan was faced with numerous challenges and always rose to the occasion. He knew that his dream was to pursue gaming beyond high school, and he put in the time and effort to be successful day after day. Now, he has an opportunity to take his skills to the collegiate level.”
When asked what interested him about getting involved in the Esports class in the first place, Logan replied, “Esports has always been a major interest of mine since I was a kid, and I love to compete in anything I can.” Logan says the most fun part of the competition is the teamwork, the heated games, and winning. His advice for other Esports players at Spiro High School is “Work your hardest because if you want to compete at a high level, Esports takes just as much time and dedication as normal sports like football, basketball, baseball, etc.”
Logan has been involved in the following high school activities: Ag, Football, Basketball, and Esports. His plans for the future are to go to college and compete in Madden for Carl Albert, pursue content creation, and work as hard as he can to accomplish the goals he has set for himself.
Logan’s family has been huge supporters of his dreams of Esports and content creation. “My dad, Tim Carter, is who got me interested in gaming at a very young age and is who I give credit for coming as far as I have within the scene. My mom, Tuesday Corpus, never hesitates to do anything she can to help me be the best I can be even if she doesn’t understand the game I’m playing. My grandma, Lillie Carter, has sacrificed a lot for me and my family even though she didn’t have to, and I am very grateful for her being there for me no matter what. Last, but not least, my aunts, Brenda Clark and Karen Stacy, have done a lot for me as well throughout the years and have given nonstop support, and I know they will continue to do so. Without my family, I don’t think I would have accomplished as much as I have, and with all of their support, hopefully, I can continue to grow and develop as a man and Esports player.”
CASC Esports Coordinator, Randy Armstrong, is proud to welcome Logan to the CASC team and knows he’ll be an asset this year.
