Welcome to my weekly commissioners’ corner. I have been enjoying the cooler temperatures this week.
The public meeting regarding the closing of the road commonly known as Buck Creek Cut Through will be September 16th, 2024, at 8:30 A.M. at the Leflore County Courthouse in the commissioners’ board room.
Parts did not come this week for equipment so we are hoping to complete the blade patching and spreading asphalt on Rock Jail Road in Panama.
Oklahoma Department of Transportation completed its project on State Highway 82 North and will move onto 82 North in Red Oak. You should expect delays as they improve roads in their department.
Reminder schools are in full swing now.
We continued working on Gassaway Loop this week. Reminder one end is closed while the highway department replaces the bridge on State Highway 83.
After some repairs to a vehicle, we will have a second patch crew on the road making improvements throughout the county.
We are currently taking bids for a good used service truck, 2018 or newer. Must have a utility bed and crane already installed.
I know many people are always looking for good employees and can’t find ones wanting to work. Kane Riggs, director and founder of 633 Recovery, has numerous guys in his program who are eligible for employment. They will all have transportation to and from work. These are great guys who need a second chance. Contact 633 if you could use any of them at your business.
Tune into KPRV 92.5 on Wednesday mornings between 7:00 A.M. and 7:10 A.M for my weekly radio commissioner’s corner.
