This week, we started working on fixing roads and putting in bridges in areas that got washed out in the storms last week. Not everything will be fixed immediately; some things we will take much longer and much more funding.
We began working on Rabbit Road, which is from the Unpaved Road grant we received. It is open to the public but not finished. We still have have a couple of tin horns to replace before we can put down gravel.
Wednesday of this week, we are planning on replacing the wooden bridge in Fanshawe.. This wasn’t on the plans until a dump truck incident, and now it has to be replaced. There will be a detour so the road won’t be closed to the neighborhood.
Our painting crews are still out painting. Our patch crews will be out this week patching. If you see an area that needs attention, please make sure you call in and let us know.
We have a short week due to Easter Holiday. Reminder Easter is about our Risen Savior Jesus Christ.
Tune into KPRV 92.5 on Wednesday mornings between 7:00 A.M. and 7:10 A.M for my weekly radio commissioner’s corner. If you are not able to tune in you can visit my YouTube channel for all past episodes at www.youtube.com/@commissionerscornerdistrict2.
As with all the districts in Leflore County, we do not have a District Facebook page, but if you have a concern about roads in District 2 please call the shop at (918)647-3600 or email us at leflored2@leflorehwy.com. Our hours are Monday through Thursday 6:30 A.M.- 4:30 P.M.
