We got a little rain this past week. We have lost several bridges. I know the Leflore County Management has been making announcements as well but if you see caution tape out PLEASE do not go around it. There is either a bridge out, missing sections of the road or more. We are trying to get areas fixed as fast as we can. But some areas will take much longer than others.
Dennis Yochum is already working on applying for FEMA relief for the county; yes, we have that much damage. Some of the bridges and roads were just redone since I took office or in the months right before that. We worked this weekend trying to get stuff fixed that had to be done so that people can get out of their houses and down roads, but this will take awhile.
I pray everyone is safe after this crazy weather. Tomorrow the temperatures are still supposed to much colder than normal, but hold on by next weekend we will be in the 80’s.
Our painting crews are still out painting. Our patch crews will be out this week patching. If you see an area that needs attention, please make sure you call in and let us know.
As with all the districts in Leflore County, we do not have a District Facebook page but if you have a concern about roads in District 2 please call the shop at (918)647-3600 or email us at leflored2@leflorehwy.com, Our hours are Monday through Thursday 6:30 A.M.- 4:30 P.M.
