SHADY POINT, OK – On January 20, 2024, the LeFlore County Sheriff Dept Oklahoma requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to assist with an officer-involved shooting.
 
Earlier that evening, LeFlore County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance near Calhoun Road and Roy Monks Road in Shady Point. When deputies located the suspect, he refused to comply with their commands and fled the scene in his vehicle.
 
A short pursuit ensued, as the suspect crashed along the side of the road. After the suspect again refused to follow deputies’ commands, he brandished a firearm, as deputies then fired and shot the suspect.
 
Deputies immediately began lifesaving measures and the suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
 
The officers on scene were not injured and this is still and ongoing investigation. The OSBI would like to thank the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office and the Panama Police Department for assisting us with this investigation.
