The Poteau Seventh and Eighth Grade Center (SEC) has announced the Students of the Month (SOM) for October. They are:
Seventh Graders
- Charlie Heflin

Eighth Graders
- Giuliana Solito
- Noah Bennetzen
Charlie’s parents are Christel and George Heflin. Charlie’s electives are library/office staff and choir. Charlie likes school because “I get to learn new skills because I want to become a doctor and we are around good people and staff”. Charlie is a member of Library Staff.
Quoy’s parents are Tabitha Silva and Neto Silva. Quoy’s electives are cross country, STEM, and band. Quoy likes school because “it makes me smarter”.
Giuliana’s parents are Mayra Solito and Samuel Solito. Giuliana’s electives are STEM, art, and library. Giuliana likes school because “I get to learn new things every day. I also get to see my friends”. Giuliana is a member of Gifted & Talented, NJHS, Library Staff, and Cheerleading.
Noah’s parents are Jordan Bennetzen and Phill Bennetzen. Noah’s electives are yearbook, advanced art, and STEM. Noah likes school because “It’s a place all my friends to to for 7 hours, so 7 hours with friends!” Noah is a member of the Academic Team.
