We Have a Winner!

On Monday April 4th, 2026 one of our own, Robyn Gregory, a sophomore at Spiro High School, won a Science-Fiction Writing Content that was orchestrated by the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. She won first place. There were two different options to choose from, a flash fiction where the story had to be 1,000 words or less and the second one was a short story which had be 3,000 words or less. The topics included futuristic, high tech, robots, aliens, space life, time travel, dystopian, parallel universes, and multiverses.

Here were the winners: The Cost of a Choice  by Robyn Gregory from Spiro High School. The Winter In June by Drew Clements from UAFS. “Sisyphus Melting” by Lyla Flint, a UAFS Alumni. And from the community, Candise Montemayor wrote Borrowed Time  and  The Museum of Unlived Lives.  Each winner was able to read a piece of their stories to those who showed up to listen to the winners. Let us congratulate these winners, and if you see Robyn Gregory in the hallways, congratulate her and wish her well in her future writing endeavors! Congratulations, Robyn!
