An individual responsible for trafficking multiple victims in multiple states is now behind bars.
The arrest is the result of an investigation by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotic’s Human Trafficking Unit over the past 5 months.
OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward says OBN conducted a human trafficking recovery operation in McClain County back in February of this year. “The McClain County victim’s testimony, along with evidence from OBN’s investigation determined CAREY LEE HOLT of Enid, Oklahoma used violence and coercion to traffic several women in Oklahoma, as well as other states.” —OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward Woodward says the investigation resulted in an Arrest Warrant being issued for Holt tied to human trafficking and other trafficking-related offenses.
When Oklahoma City Police officers located and arrested Holt on Tuesday, June 25, he was in possession of a firearm. OBN Director Donnie Anderson says stopping predators who exploit the vulnerable will always be a top priority of his agency. “I am proud of the outstanding work by Agents with our Human Trafficking Unit over the past several months to track down this individual who has trafficked victims in multiple states. I am also grateful the victim recovered in McClain County has been reunited with her family and is receiving assistance.” —OBN Director Donnie Anderson Anyone with information about suspected Human Trafficking can anonymously report it to OBN’s Human Trafficking tip line at (855)-617-2288 or send OBN a Facebook DM.
