CARNEY, OK – On June 12, 2023, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a missing adult male near Carney, Oklahoma.

Their investigation led them to a property in northwest Lincoln County, where possible human remains were discovered. On July 7, 2023, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was requested to assist, in processing the crime scene and conducting interviews.

As the investigation ensued, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Janelle Brown and 42-year-old Clyde Clayton for accessory to murder, unlawful removal of a dead body, and destroying evidence. They were both booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

The remains were handed over to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office for proper identification. This is still an on-going investigation.
