According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, two people from Talihina were injured in a one vehicle accident that occurred on October 8, 2018 at 1:17am on State Highway 2 and 1/2 mile north of State Highway 63 in Latimer County.
According to the report, a 2013 Ford Explorer driven by Billie Nowabbi 72, from Talihina and her passenger Nora Johnico, 87, from Talihina were traveling southbound on SH2 when Nowabbi fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the roadway to the right and struck an embankment.
Nowabbi was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Choctaw Nation Hospital in Talihina treated and released.
Johnico was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Choctaw Nation Hospital in Talihina and was listed in critical condition with trunk internal injuries.
