At the Poteau City Council meeting on Monday evening, the council decided to not open the pool at Twyman Park, since no work has begun on renovations and having to wait for the new pump to come in.
The pool was originally closed back in 2016, because the pool was leaking.
According to Mayor Jeff Shockley contractors should begin work around July 9th and it should take approximately two weeks to complete.
Since that would push the time line around the end of July and with school starting in August, the council made the decision to hold off opening the pull this summer.
