Grand: February 23. Elevation is 1 ft. below normal and stable, water temperature 40°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass slow on flukes, jerk baits, jigs, lipless baits, plastic baits, PowerBait, and rogues around channels, inlet, main lake, points, riprap, river channel, river mouth, and rocks. White bass slow on crankbaits, flukes, in-line spinnerbaits, jerk baits, small lures, and spinnerbaits around channels, creek channels, discharge, inlet, main lake, points, riprap, river channel, river mouth, and sandbar. Blue and channel catfish fair on chicken liver, crawfish, cut bait, shad, shrimp, and slabs around main lake, points, riprap, river mouth. Comments: Main lake seems to be open waters, upper end of Grand- the Neosho/Spring River is frozen in most places due to the recent cold blast the area received. Report submitted by J. Lower Illinois River: February 21. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 40°F and clear. Rainbow trout fair on hair jigs, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs, and PowerBait below the dam and shallows. Comments: Current river flow 150 CFS. Kaw: February 24. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 33°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Paddlefish excellent snagging below the dam. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows, and tube jigs around brush structure, riprap, rocks, and standing timber. Blue catfish good on cut bait, shad, and sunfish below the dam, main lake, and points. Comments: Ice fishing was good. Don’t recommend trying it now. Broken Bow: February 21. Elevation is 4 ft. above normal and falling, water temperature 45°F and clear. Eufaula: February 21. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 40°F and stained. Striper are biting very well. Catfish are good near the mouth of the river and channels on live shad. Crappie are biting on jigs near brush piles.
