OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Eddy Dempsey, R-Valliant, and other Oklahoma House members recently attended The Energy Council’s 2023 Global Energy and Environmental Issues Conference in Jackson, Wyoming.
Members heard about the challenges and opportunities associated with nuclear power, the implementation of carbon capture technologies, the deployment of technology to enhance grid reliability and affordability, and both the successes and obstacles of wind energy.
“Energy is a crucial part of our state’s economy and history,” Dempsey said. “As a legislator, I take pride in working with colleagues and energy partners to analyze state and national energy issues.”
The Energy Council is an international, national, non-partisan legislative organization founded in 1975 to promote a balanced national energy strategy and related environmental policies. The Council also endeavors to promote an understanding of energy and its role in the global economy and to give legislative policymakers a chance to learn more about energy issues of importance to their states, citizens, environment and revenue base.
Dempsey, a Republican, has served House District 1 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives since 2020.
