OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Eddy Dempsey, R-Valliant, hosted the Oklahoma House of Representatives Majority Caucus from Dec. 6-9 at Choctaw Landing in Hochatown.

The event featured policy sessions and a budget overview for the 81-member Republican Caucus as well as state and national speakers. Members were allowed to bring their spouses to enjoy the facility as well as Hochatown and the surrounding area in Southeast Oklahoma.

“I was so proud to be able to show off this area of my House district,” Dempsey said. “The Choctaw Nation has done a phenomenal job with this resort, and I think every House member attending as well as their spouses thoroughly enjoyed Southeast Oklahoma and how well they were treated while they were here.”

Kyle Hilbert, R-Bristow and the incoming speaker of the House for the 60th Legislature, said he was pleased with the work accomplished during the retreat and with the excellent service caucus attendees received everywhere they went in McCurtain County.

“Choctaw Landing and the surrounding area provided a beautiful backdrop for the work of setting priorities for our upcoming legislative session,” Hilbert said. “The Choctaw Nation and the other service professionals who worked with us to make this retreat a success went above and beyond our expectations. They deserve our thanks and appreciation.”

Eddy Dempsey serves District 1 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes McCurtain County and part of Le Flore County.
