State Representative Tim Turner (R-Kinta)
OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Tim Turner, R-Kinta, today thanked Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and other local officials for safety improvements at the Intersection of State Highway 10 and East 93 Street South near Greenleaf State Park.
Turner said shortly after he was elected last November, he and State Sen. Avery Frix, R-Muskogee, were contacted by Braggs School employees and community members who expressed concerns about the newly reconstructed intersection. He said tragically a traffic accident at the intersection claimed the life of a young child.
In response, he and Sen. Frix met with Muskogee County Emergency Management, Muskogee County Sheriff Andy Simmons and ODOT officials to assess the safety of the area.
“Thanks to the hard work and urgency of ODOT, safety improvements have now been made – including an extended guardrail system and the addition of plastic water barriers,” Turner said. “This is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when community members, local leaders and state agencies work together. With continued partnerships like these, we will keep pushing forward to improve Oklahoma’s roads and protect the lives of our citizens.”
Rep. Tim Turner, a Republican, represents House District 15 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes Haskell County and portions of McIntosh, Muskogee, Le Flore and Pittsburg counties.
