TJ Holt, Funeral Director and owner of the new Holt funeral home is proud to announce the opening of his new business, Holt Funeral & Cremation located at 522 Dewey Avenue in Poteau.
TJ Holt, who has been in the funeral business and serving families for over 28 years said Holt Funeral & Cremation will be Poteau’s only 100% locally owned funeral home.
Holt also added two members to the Holt Family Team that includes Jan Cook, who has over 56 years of experience in the funeral home business, as well as Mya Hess who is a state licensed insurance agent who will serve as Office Manager and Pre-Needs Specialist.
TJ and Jan have a combined 80 years in serving families with love and dignity.
Renovations of the Two Historic Churches on Dewey Avenue: Holt said, “renovations of the 100-year-old historic church building located at the corner of 522 Dewey Avenue in Poteau is now complete and we are ready to begin serving the families of eastern Oklahoma.”
In renovating this 100-year-old building we have worked in keeping as much of the original wood as possible in helping to maintain the charm of this great building and hoping those who worshipped here, or who had family who worshipped here will be proud of our renovation.
When people come inside 522 Dewey, they will be greeted in a spacious lobby area with white shiplap walls, 8-foot-tall wooden doors and a vaulted ceiling entry.
The funeral home side consists of a large family conference room for deciding arrangements, and there are four large private family/viewing rooms with video screens for family pictures to scroll.
The new business has a second church building at 520 Dewey Avenue that will be the chapel for services and the chapel is connected to the funeral home.
Connected to the back of the chapel is a large family room that will be available for families to meet, eat and to greet friends and loved ones.
Renovations for both the chapel and family room are ongoing and expected to be completed in the next 30 days. We also have a large parking area convenient to all 3 buildings.
If someone uses our services but they don’t have a church or location for their loved one’s service until the chapel is completed, we have made arrangements with several churches and locations in the area to use their chapel for services until our chapel and family room are completed.
The focus of our business will be serving families in the most loving and sincere way possible.
Families who use Holt will always be treated with love, dignity and respect as we will work hard at providing the finest service that families need during times of loss.
