James Edward “Bill” Bailey, 85, of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, passed away on July 5, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on March 28, 1940, at Baptist Health Medical Center to Mildred (Mott) Bailey and Edward Zachary Bailey.
Bill had a lifelong interest in mechanics and was well known for his love of working on cars and building hot rods. In his later years, he found enjoyment in repairing lawn mowers, always keeping busy with projects and lending a hand when needed. He will be remembered for his practical skills, quiet dedication, and strong work ethic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Edward Bailey; his wife of 63 years, Saundra Bailey; and one sister, Glenda McClain.
Bill is survived by one son, Jimmy Bailey of Heavener, Oklahoma; two daughters, Teresa Graves of Heavener, Oklahoma, and Dorothy Rankin and husband Wayne of Bakersfield, California; one brother, Donald Bailey of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; and one sister, Jean Vest of Bokoshe, Oklahoma.
In accordance with his wishes, his family, loved ones, and friends will privately mourn his passing and no public services will be held at this time. Direct cremation will take place under the direction of Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma.
Bill’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
