Jerry Ray Johnson, age 83, of Panama, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on November 4, 2025. He was born on July 21, 1942, in Panama, Oklahoma, to Thomas John and Evelyn (Keeth) Johnson.
Jerry was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors and the simple joys of being surrounded by family and friends. He had a deep appreciation for old-time country music and knew every song by heart. Jerry will be remembered for his warmth and the love he shared so freely with those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Thomas Johnson.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Johnson of the home; his children, Cathy Kalos and husband Shaun of Cave Creek, Arizona, Tommy Johnson and wife Lindsay of Surprise, Arizona, and Theresa Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona; his sister-in-law, Sharon Johnson; nephew, Tom (Toby) Johnson and wife Lori; niece, Sissy Johnson; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-niece; one great-nephew; and his dear friends, Jerry and Leah Culwell and their family.
Jerry’s family and friends will forever cherish his memory and the joy he brought to their lives.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey, 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma with Jeff Cooper officiating. A family dinner will follow in the Cedar Celebration Room at 520 Dewey Ave., Poteau, Oklahoma 74953.
