Jimmie Alton Billings of Wister, Oklahoma was born November 16, 1938 in Long Beach, California to James and Ruth (Hardy) Billings and passed away in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at the Oklahoma Veterans Home on August 3, 2026 at the age of 87.

 

Jimmie is survived by:

 

One daughter:

Cynthia Bruesch and husband Shon of Heavener, Oklahoma

 

Two sons:

Jeff Billings and wife Brenda of Fort Smith, Arkansas

Scott Billings and wife Jill of Poteau, Oklahoma

 

11 grandchildren

 

Several great-grandchildren

 

One great-great-grandchild

 

His best friend:

Beverly Loomis of Wister, Oklahoma

 

Numerous other loved ones and a host of friends

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Billings; his wife, Mary (Vise) Billings; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Haskell and Dessie Vise.

Jimmie, a proud veteran who served 20 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era, passed away peacefully. Deeply patriotic, he dedicated his life to his country and his community. Jimmie was the beloved owner and repairman of Billings TV and a respected member of the Masonic Lodge. He cherished spending quality time with his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

 

 

Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
