Albert was born on December 18, 1949, in Littlefield, Texas. He began his education at Valley View Elementary in Texas and graduated from Madill High School in 1968. He went on to earn an associate degree from Murray State College in Tishomingo in 1970, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeastern State University in 1972. In 1977, he completed a Master’s Degree in Natural Science. Albert was proud to have graduated with honors from every institution he attended.
Albert dedicated his life to education and coaching. He began his teaching career in 1972 at Madill Junior High and continued at Whitesboro, Texas from 1973 to 1976. In 1976, he began a 37-year tenure at Sallisaw Public Schools in Oklahoma, where he was a respected teacher and coach who influenced countless young lives.
Outside of the classroom, Albert was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with family. He cherished family vacations, especially trips to Hawaii and Alaska—gifts for his sons upon their high school graduations. Time spent with his four grandchildren brought him great joy, as did watching his sons follow in his footsteps as coaches.
Albert is survived by his loving wife, Henrietta, of the home; his sister, Bertha Luttmer of Moore, Oklahoma; and his brother, Norbert Luttmer of Madill, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sons and their wives, Robert and Jennifer Luttmer of Piedmont, Oklahoma, and Ryan and Tiffany Luttmer of Mena, Arkansas; four grandchildren—Jacob, Bryson, Matthew, and Charli Luttmer; brother-in-law Stanley and Debbie Odom of Howe, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law Susie Odom of Poteau, Oklahoma.
