Camelia O. (Steelman) Luman of Heavener, Oklahoma was born on May 28, 1923 in Reichert, Oklahoma to John Richard and Eliza Ann (White) Steelman and passed from this life on January 11, 2021 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 97.

She is survived by:

Bill Luman of Heavener, Oklahoma

Ray Luman and wife Pam of Wister, Oklahoma

One sister:

Ida Bell Moody of Modesto, California

Five grandchildren:

Chad (Luman) Loper and wife Kelly of Wister, Oklahoma

Shana King and husband Tim of Lexington, Oklahoma

Delana Ester and husband Dustin of Heavener, Oklahoma

Nathan Luman and wife Abbey of McKinney, Oklahoma

Candace Luman of Justin, Oklahoma

19 great-grandchildren

2 great-great-grandchildren

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of many friends

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Estes Luman; one son, Estes Leon Luman; one grandson, Dwight Luman; six brothers, Hershel, Merrel, Delbert, Finis, Chief, and J.L. Steelman; and two sisters, Esther Ryburn and Pauline Rex.

Camelia was a longtime resident of the area, a retired assembly line worker for Hunt & Wesson Cannery. Camelia also was an Avon Representative, worked at Heavener Cleaners, Hamlin manufacturing in Poteau, Oklahoma, and a trailer manufacturing company in Pocola, Oklahoma. She also worked for the Choctaw Election Board. Camelia was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Choctaw Nation, and Rebekah’s Lodge. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by many.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church in Heavener, Oklahoma with Dr. Jeff Beshears, Brother Paul Puckett, and Brother Chad (Luman) Loper officiating. Burial will follow in Reichert Cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Chad (Luman) Loper, Tyler Ester, Logan Ester, Nathan Luman, Seth Covey, and Tim King.

Viewing will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
