Funeral Service for Carl Wayne Cosgrove, 75 of Bokoshe, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with Justin Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery in Milton, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Carl was born on April 12, 1948 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma to Lillian (Crosswell) Cosgrove and Kenneth Eugene Cosgrove and passed away on April 18, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann Cosgrove; and son, Kenneth Cosgrove. Carl was a loving and caring dad, papa and friend. He was an iron worker for over 50 years. He was very smart and could figure out how to do just about anything. Carl helped countless kids learn to ride in the shodeo’s and served his community by volunteering on the Bokoshe Fire Department. He loved to ride his mules and work with his bees. Carl was notorious for being ornary and a prankster. He never met a stranger and would talk to anyone that would listen.
Carl’s kids and grandkids were his life. He would go above and beyond to make sure that they had what they needed and they knew that they were loved by him.
He would help anyone, in any way that he could, and he will be missed by many.
Survivors include his sons, Todd Cosgrove, and Heath Cosgrove; grandchildren, Chase Cosgrove, Jade Cosgrove, Page Cosgrove, Brad Cosgrove, Chad Cosgrove, Darrell Cosgrove, Kenzlee Cosgrove, Briar Cosgrove, Haylie Clem, DaniLee Bryant, Kenzie Turner, and Caycee Tackett; sisters, Jean Parker, Judy Duboise and husband Terry; numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Bill O’Neal, Eric Donahoe, Danny Strain, Johnny Strain, Elton Green, and Charles Croswell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be James Tackett, and Dale Whitecotton.
Open Visitation will be on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9:00-2:00PM and Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 12:00-6:00 PM Family visiting with friends from 6:00-8:00 PM.
