Graveside funeral services for Charley Covey  will be at 2pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Shady Point Cemetery with Reverend Jim Cook officiating.  Viewing hours will be 9am-7pm Monday with the family visiting with friends from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home, pallbearers will be his family.  Funeral services are under the professional direction of Jim Cook and Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Charley Wayne Covey was born on June 3, 1936 in Calhoun, Oklahoma  to Eunice Brown and Bob Covey and passed away on October 18, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Ethelene (Goins) Covey; his son, Donny Covey; daughter’s in law, Tina Covey and Shelia Covey; his parents, Bob and Eunice (Brown) Covey, four sisters, Ruby Brock, Rachel Robinson, May Shrum, and Ruth Harrison; four brothers, L.D. Covey, Steve Covey, Johnny Covey, and jimmy Covey.

Charley had a passion for working, he did it well, and is know all over for moving houses.  His life wasn’t always easy but he enjoyed every minute of it and he loved his family with all his heart.  He is survived by his three sons, Charley Covey, Jr., Dennis Covey, and Robert Covey and wife LisaLisa; four daughters, Deborah Jeffrey and husband Dennis, Janice Barcheers and husband Rickey, Diane Jackson and husband Mike, and Charolette Covey; sister in law, Patsy Covey, fifteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, friends, and loved ones.
