Edward “Rick” Beshoner, 77, of Pocola, Oklahoma, passed away on July 7, 2025, in Pocola. He was born on August 31, 1947, in Paris, Arkansas, to Herman Joseph “Hoot” Beshoner and Dorothy (Hampton) Beshoner.

Rick was a proud veteran, having served in the National Guard. He worked over 40 years in the oil and gas industry, where he earned the respect of many through his hard work, dedication, and integrity.
One of Rick’s greatest passions in life was dirt track racing. For over 20 years, he was a regular at the track, racing cars, turning wrenches, and chasing checkered flags. More than just a hobby, it was a way of life. Rick loved the camaraderie of the racing community and especially cherished the time spent in the pits and on the track with his son. He never missed a chance to ask about the next race, and was always quick to offer help or advice—whether it was tuning the car or hauling it to the track. Racing wasn’t just about speed for Rick; it was about family, tradition, and living life wide open.
Rick was also an avid sports fan and could often be found watching football, baseball, or whatever game happened to be on. But more than anything, he loved his family. Holidays were especially meaningful to him, a time when everyone came together under one roof to share laughter, stories, and food. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he took every opportunity to be involved in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman “Hoot” and Dorothy Beshoner; his sister, Judy Lee; and his mother-in-law, Creasy Morris.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Beshoner, of the home; his children: Eric Beshoner and wife Misty of Fort Smith, AR; Amy Trusty and husband Rick of Paris, AR; Paula Beshoner of Van Buren, AR; Brittany Beshoner of Washington; and Tina McClary and husband Shannon of Cameron, OK.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Herman Rhys Beshoner, Kaegan Hickey, Andy Trusty, Luke Trusty, Davis Cooper, Jaelyn Cooper, Caide Schuman, Kyle McClary, and David McClary; and his beloved great-grandchildren: Weston Cooper, Robert Colt Trusty, and Winston McClary.
Rick is also survived by his sisters, Joy Carson and Virginia Beshoner, both of Fort Smith, AR, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Cameron, Oklahoma, with Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Cameron, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
