Florence “Ione” married her sweetheart, Norval Place, in 1954. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage and were blessed with 5 children, 2 of whom passed on before her. Ione lived her life for others to see Jesus through the joys and the sorrows. As “Momma” Place, she not only had a direct prayer line to heaven due to the loss of her children, grandchild, and great-grandchildren, but also for her ever-expanding, rowdy, yet loving, family. She lived her life seeking to be His hands and feet in everything she did. As a community prayer warrior, she interceded for each person she encountered so that they might know they mattered to her and to the Heavenly Father. You would often hear her say, Jesus Jesus Jesus, as an anthem prayer as she knew that her heart was heard. Ione was the epitome of knowing who’s she was and where her strength came from. Today we get to celebrate a race well run, not without sorrow, but with honor and admiration.
