Gary Hudgins was born on July 2, 1953 in Bakersfield, California to Imogene Lillybell (Beeler) Barker and Lawrence Jerry “Chief” Hudgins and passed away on April 16, 2020 in Spiro, Oklahoma at the age of 66.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Hudgins; grandparents, Lawrence and Florence Hudgins, John and Marie Beeler; father, Lawrence Jerry Hudgins; brother, Jerry Hudgins; sister, Cynthia Hudgins-Baxter. He joined the Army at the age of 19 and once he returned home he worked as a Mechanic in Parlier, California.
Gary married the love of his life Sheila in Selma, California in the 1980’s and helped raise Christal and Shawn as his very own children whom he loved dearly.
Gary became a fabrication welder in Bakersfield, California for Ken Small Construction until he moved to Spiro, Oklahoma in 2007.
Gary loved his family and friends and was always a dear Uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his daughter, Christal LeAnne of New Mexico; son, Shawn Mittie of Colorado; sisters, Debra Ritter of Pocola, Oklahoma, Beverly Whaley of Selma, California; mother, Imogene Barker of Spiro, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives, and loved ones.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday April 18, 2020 at the New Hope Cemetery Pavilion in Spiro, Oklahoma. His sister Debra Barker will also be streaming the service live via her Facebook page.
