Johnny was a long-time resident of Summerfield. He retired from Kenco Plastics in 1997. Once he was bored of retirement, he opened a tire shop in Summerfield and soon thereafter, decided to give the cattle business a try. He officially retired from everything in 2013 and thus began his 2pm everyday naps. Fishing, camping, gardening, taking drives to nowhere, and reading books are all things that he loved. He never passed up the chance to play a game of dominoes or to have a coffee at the local watering hole. But he was always best at being a grandpa. His face would light up when he was around his family and never failed to let them all know they got their looks from him. Johnny was a member of Heart O’ The Hills Church and served in the Oklahoma National Guard for 7 years.

Family memorial service will be at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
