Kevin was a man who truly loved the simple joys of life. He had a deep passion for outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. He was a devoted fan of OU football. He treasured time spent with family, especially during holidays and gatherings, where laughter and togetherness meant the most. Music was one of his favorite pastimes, bringing him comfort and joy throughout his life.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Morelock; and three sisters, Claudia Lacey, Claudette Corbin, and Verna Dotson.
He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Holt of Cameron, Oklahoma, Kevin Holt, Jr. of Spiro, Oklahoma; Billy Holt and Kristin Daniels of Pocola, Oklahoma, Edgar Athey of Shady Point, Oklahoma, Cody Thompson of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, Tasha Ray and Carey of Giddings, Texas; as well as a special niece, Destiny Phillips of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sisters, Kalley Montgomery and Dewayne of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Patricia Gossett of Spiro, Oklahoma, Dede Persson and Andreas of Spring, Texas and Waynie Holt of Stigler, Oklahoma; his brother, Terry Holt of Stigler, Oklahoma; and his uncle, Virgil Dameron of Horseshoe Bend, Oklahoma: his eight grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Graveside Services for Kevin will be held 2pm, Monday, April 6, 2026, at the New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma with Kevin Holt Jr. and TJ Holt officiating. Family Visitation will be 5pm – 7pm, Thursday, April 2, 2026, at The Cedars 522 Dewey Ave. Poteau, Oklahoma 74953.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Holt Jr., Billy Holt, Edgar Athey, Dewayne Montgomery, Jeff Montgomery and Terry Winn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Duane Thompson, Tasha Ray, Cody Thompson, Elizabeth Holt and Destiny Phillips.
