Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was a proud member of Monroe First Baptist Church and lived a life full of simple joys and strong faith. She had a green thumb and loved spending time in her garden. Her hands were rarely still, often sewing, piecing together jigsaw puzzles, or diving deep into her family’s roots through her passion for genealogy.
She was a teacher for many years. She taught English, home economics, and was a librarian. She taught at McCurtain, Shady Point, Wister, and Pocola schools.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with her sisters — especially enjoying weekend garage sales together. But above all, Sandy loved her family dearly. Time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Helen Yochum; her brothers, Jim Pann; brothers-in-law Bill Parker and Charles Yochum; and her nephew, Robert “Bobby” Douglas Boling.
Sandy is survived by her devoted husband, Paulx Miller, Jr.; her daughters, Jerri Prescott and husband DeWayne, and Larissa Miller; her cherished grandchildren, Jordan Thomas and husband Duncan, Lari Ann Coker and partner Jeremy Burgess, Faith Belk and husband Tyler, and Hunter Prescott; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Leah and Waylon Thomas, Chloe Maxwell, Ryker Burgess, Gunnar, Lincoln, and Isaac Belk. Sandy also leaves behind her loving sisters, Lois Parker, Lena Boling and husband Doug; sister – in law, Linda Pann, and Bettie Grisson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
