Funeral services for Paul Perry, 82 of Spiro, Oklahoma will be at 10:30am Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Murry Spur Free Will Baptist Church in Spiro, Oklahoma with Pastor Lee Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home. Viewing hours will be 9:00am-7:00pm Wednesday with the family visiting with friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the funeral home.
Paul Dewayne Perry was born on August 22, 1940 in McCurtain, Oklahoma to Mary Opal (King) and Campbell Phillip Perry and passed away on April 16, 2023 in Spiro, Oklahoma. He was married to Dianna Perry on August 7, 1972 in Amarillo, Texas. He was a Navy Veteran and retired from the 188th Air National Guard and a member of the Choctaw Veterans Association Post 4501 in Skullyville, Oklahoma. He also retired from Pocola Elementary School and loved hearing from his former students.
He is survived by his wife Dianna Perry; children, Joye Jones and husband J.R.II, Richard B. Tackett, Robin Lanham and husband Allan, Cody Tackett and wife Denise, Joel Perry and wife Madeleine, Michael Perry and wife Dwanna, David Perry, and Stephen Perry and wife Debbie; 23 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; one brother, Joe Perry and wife Pam.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Campbell P. Perry (full blood Choctaw) and mother, Mary Opal (King) (full blood Choctaw-Chickasaw); siblings, Harold, Betty, Edna, Davey Jean, Belvin, and Bolin.
