Russell Joseph “Rusty” Washburn, 66, passed away on July 26, 2025, in Cameron, Oklahoma surrounded by his family and friends. Rusty was born on March 11, 1959, in Brockton, Massachusetts to parents Richard and Mary (Vanier) Washburn. Rusty worked as a mechanic for many years. He loved to be outside, whether it was enjoying camping, time on the water in his boat, or taking his motorcycle for a long ride. Although Rusty loved all those things, his most prized possessions were enjoying his grandsons and spending quality time with his family. To know Rusty, was to love him. He will be dearly missed.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Rusty is survived by his wife Rose of the home, his sons Chuck Brown of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Thomas Gaither of Ward, Arkansas, his 5 grandsons Brentyn, Trevor, Joseph, Carson, and Hudson, his brothers Robert Washburn and companion Becky of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Mike Washburn and wife Lynn of Brockton, Massachusetts, and Ronnie Washburn of Brockton, Massachusetts, his sisters Theresa Jeffers of Choudrant, Louisiana and Gail Martin and husband Jerry of Crossett, Arkansas, and special brother in law John Powell and wife Raylene, along with many other relatives and loved ones.
The Celebration of Life Services for Russell “Rusty” Washburn will be held privately by his family at a later date.
