Sonny Mangrum of Carnegie, Oklahoma (formerly of Wister, Oklahoma) was born August 29, 1939 in Heavener, Oklahoma to James and Alma (Lord) Mangrum and passed away July 28, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 78.
He is survived by:

Tasha Diane Mangrum of Wister, Oklahoma
Sherry Smith of Desert Hot Springs, California
One son:
Michael Ray Mangrum of Faye, Oklahoma
Eight grandchildren:
Anthony Michael Jackson, Amber Dawn Cummings, Jamie Lavon Cummings, Shasta Nicole Mortenson, Shelby Diane Baker, Caiden James Iby, Robert Smith, and Latisha Smith
13 great-grandchildren:
Tapanga, Christofer, Rakel, Brice, Kylie, Lester, Celstina, Magen, Carlos, Harlen, John David, Kimberlyann, and Nevaeh

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lavon; one son, Kenneth Ray Mangrum; one brother, John Mangrum; one sister, Louise Glass; one grandson, Ralph James Mangrum; and his companion, Dorothy Jean Mangrum.
Sonny was a retired Carpenter in construction. He was a loving father, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Sonny will be deeply missed by many whom loved and knew him.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister, Oklahoma with Brother Glen Midgley officiating.
Burial will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be from noon until 8:00 p.m., Monday.
