William E. Nelson of Panama, Oklahoma was born April 12, 1930 in McLennan, Texas to William Tollie and Emma Virginia Julina (Campbell) Nelson and passed away on August 28, 2019 in Poteau, Oklahoma at the age of 89.

 

He is survived by:

One daughter:
Vicki R. Bollinger of Panama, Oklahoma

Two sons:
William “Bill” R. Nelson of Mannford, Oklahoma
Walter D. Nelson of Grapevine, Arkansas

One sister:
Willa F. Parker of Flagstaff, Arizona

One brother:
Charles R. Nelson of Tulsa, Oklahoma

Three grandchildren

Six great-grandchildren

Numerous other relatives and host of friends

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Tollie and Emma Virginia Juliana Nelson; his wife, Mary J. (Muse) Nelson; three brothers, Ralph, Warren, and Odale Nelson; and two sisters, Maryle Nelson and Mabel Belt. William was a long-time resident of the Tulsa area. He was a Service Technician for GE Electric.

 

William was a veteran, where he served his country during the Korean Conflict.

 

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2019 at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs, Oklahoma with Mr. Daryl Muse officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

Pallbearers will be Charles Nelson, Teddy Nelson, Kylah Nelson, Elizabeth Nelson, Shaunna Christy, and Hailie McCord.

 

Viewing will be from noon until 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
