RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s basketball players of the week for the seventh week of the 2024-25 season. Ouachita Baptist’s Madeleine Tipton won the Offensive Player of the Week honor and Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Payton Jones claimed the Defensive Player of the Week accolade.

#theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Madeleine Tipton, G, Ouachita Baptist, Jr., Vilonia, Arkansas
Tipton registered consecutive 20-point games in games against Harding and UAFS. She scored a season-high 27 points and went 3-for-7 from the 3-point arc against the Lady Bisons. She went 8-for-16 with four 3-pointers against the Lions, including the game-winning buzzer beater. She recorded back-to-back 20-point games for the third time in her career.

#theGAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Payton Jones, F, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Sr., Alva, Oklahoma
Jones led the conference in steals per game for the week after she recorded four steals in games against both Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central. She grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds as the Rangers dominated the Tigers in their best defensive scoring performance against a GAC team since 2014-15. She added 20 points against ECU for her first double-double.
