RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s soccer players of the week for the final week of the 2024 season. Ouachita Baptist swept the awards as Teagan Jaussi won Offensive Player, Sophia Valencia claimed Defender and Taylor Hapgood captured Goalkeeper of the Week.

#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Teagan Jaussi, M, Ouachita Baptist, So., Frisco, Texas
Jaussi scored twice in the second half of Tigers’ regular-season finale against Northwestern Oklahoma State. After a scoreless first half, she scored two goals in a two-minute span. Her first goal came after a pass from Sophia Valencia deflected off a Ranger defender to set her up for the goal. The second goal came following a cross from Reese Brown.

Valencia played 165 of the available 180 minutes in the TIgers’ wins against Harding and Northwestern Oklahoma State that lifted the Tigers to their first GAC regular-season title. The Tiger defense surrendered only a first-half goal to the Lady Bisons. She added an assist on Jaussi’s game-winning goal against the Rangers.

#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Taylor Hapgood, GK, Ouachita Baptist, Fr., Edmond, Oklahoma
Hapgood earned the wins against Harding and Ouachita Baptist. In making her first appearances since September, she made a career-high eight saves in the 2-1 win against the Lady Bisons. She followed up with six saves and recorded her first shutout in the 3-0 GAC regular-season-title-clinching victory against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
