I know what it feels like and have either got lucky or paid the price for not following Dr’s orders after surgery. My Dr. calls me non-compliant. Now I don’t know what that means but ya shore don’t get a gold star for acting that way. But after bypass surgery, I was forced to wait 8 weeks before I drove. I am not a patient man. So my advice to Larry Hight, long time bassest for some of the best bands in our area is there will be NO bullriding, NO driving and No P.A Setup. Heal yourself with patience. I know the guys in “Stagemasters” miss him. And I missed his B’day so “Happy Birthdat 2 U ! And continued prayers for healing. I am amazed just how many of the guys are still making great music after 50 yrs on stage. The older the violin, The sweeter the music! And just in the last year, there have been some younger musicians and bands that are gaining momentum. “The Black Diamonds”- “South 49”- Clay Grant- several more. Don’t take for granted any moment onstage where and when the magic happens. You connect with the audience and the applause is sincere and deserved. Take a piece of the night and be a lil’ selfish. Sing your favorite song. Enjoy and be thankful for the talents that are blessings that deserve much gratitude. May you play as long as you want and never tire of the joy that making music brings. If ya haven’t noticed, I miss playing a lot. Gotta mention a talented singer songwriter from Tahlequah, Blain Bailey. Blaine has entertained at the Coffee Cup a couple of years ago and his original songs and style of guitar set him apart. Lotta hard work, finding musicians to form a band, playing at festivals from here to the Dakotas and just last week was in the spotlights at Cain’s Ballroom. Maybe we can get “The Blaine Bailey Band” to come to Poteau again Soon.
