The LeFlore County Historical Society in partnership with the Poteau Downtown Dewey District accepted a $10,000 donation from Arvest Bank in Poteau.
These funds will go towards phase one of the Downtown Dewey District Pocket Park Project. Phase one includes steel work, brickwork, electrical wiring, renovating the restrooms, and installing light fixtures.
Phase two will include renovating the stage and concession area, as well as installing benches, signs, and additional lighting.
Arvest Bank representatives Shawn Campbell and Ted Sheets presented the check to the LeFlore County Historical Society, along with board members of the Downtown Dewey District, in front of the new brick entrance of the park.
‘We want to thank Arvest for the donation and helping to revitalize the down area,” said David Deaton, Director of the LeFlore County Historical Society. “We are thankful for Arvest and their commitment to helping the community.”
