Candidates for municipal office in twelve Leflore County municipalities may file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, February 4.
Sharon Steele, Secretary of the County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 6.
Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office for the indicated offices for each of the following municipalities:
Town of Arkoma I Trustee (2 yr. unexpired term}-3 Trustees (4 yr. term) City Clerk/Treasurer (4 yr. term)
Town of Bokoshe 1 Trustee (2 yr. unexpired term}-2 Trustees (4 yr. term)
Town of Cameron- Trustees- Ward 1 and 3 (4 yr. term)-Town Clerk (4 yr. term)
City of Heavener City Commissioner-Ward 2 and 4 (4 yr. term}- Mayor Treasurer ( 2 yr. term)
Town of Howe I Trustee (2 yr. unexpired term)-3 Trustees (4 yr. term)
Town of Panama I Trustee (2 yr. unexpired term}-3 Trustees (4 yr. term} Clerk/Treasurer (4 yr. term)
Town of Pocola Trustees- Ward 1, 3 and 5-City Clerk/Treasurer( 4 yr. term)
City of Poteau Councilmember-Ward 1,2,3,4 (seat 2)- Mayor- Marshal/Police Chief- Street Commissioner ( 4 yr. terms)
Town of Shady Point I Trustee (2 yr. unexpired term}- 3 Trustees (4 yr. term)
Town of Spiro- Trustee Ward 2 ( 2 yr. unexpired term)- Trustees Ward 1, 3, 5 (4 yr. term)- Town Clerk/Treasurer (4 yr. term)
Town of Talihina 2 Trustees (2 yr unexpired term)-2 Trustees (4 yr. term)
Town of Wister 3 Trustees (4 yr. term)- City Clerk (4 yr. term)
The municipal offices at stake in the Municipalities listed above will be filled in the nonpartisan election scheduled April, 2, 2019 .
