As we get closer we begin to see more. Currently there is a winter storm warning for Sebastian county (Fort Smith) which will possibly extend into Eastern Oklahoma within the next 24 hrs. Currently a winter storm watch is in effect for Leflore county with road hazard being moderate. A quarter of an inch is ice is possible, and as you get closer to I-40, you may see up to half an inch. The time frame is now 10pm tonight to 9am tomorrow.
IF YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL, pack your vehicle for the instance you get stranded. Never leave your vehicle if stranded and utilize resources on hand such as bottled water, blankets, can goods with pull top, so on. Travel is not at all recommended, and I suggest everyone stays home until it’s melted off by Tuesday.
Highs Monday are expected to be 39°F, however there has been a lot of uncertainty on if it will get this warm. So like I said, bread and milk warning and to get products. The impact is not as bad as it was two days ago, however there will be travel hazards no doubt with dangerous driving conditions.
