Jimmy was a veteran of the Navy, where he served in the Vietnam War. He was retired from many years of manufacturing. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years, but spent his retired days mainly fishing, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, tending to his yard, and studying the Word of God. Jimmy received his minister license in January of 2000 and spent the remainder of his life studying and deepening his relationship with the Lord.
He is survived by: His sons: Brian Moore and wife Elisha Jessie Moore and wife Jessica His daughter: Brandy Bailey and husband Seth His brothers: Troy and Wilmer Moore His sisters: Debbie Moore, Francis Livingston and husband Greg, Ellen Fowler and husband Steven, Adriene Benton and husband Bo, Ynona Bell and husband John, and Robyn Roberts
His grandchildren: Braden, Baylor, Kyleigh, Reed, Isaiah, JJ, Ripp, Eli, and Caleb He is preceded in death by his wife, Vickey; his mother, Lilian; step-mother, Shirley; his dad, Jim; adopted dad, Elroy; sisters, Cynthia White and Kathy Meche.
Jimmy’s Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Shepherd’s Heart Church in Poteau, Oklahoma with Pastor Darren Williams officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral & Cremation Center of Poteau, Oklahoma. “LeFlore County’s Only On-Site Crematory”
