Jim Fisk of Fort Smith, Arkansas formally of Spiro, Oklahoma was born April 7, 1940 in Wilburton, Oklahoma to Calvin and Gertie (Arter) Fisk and passed away August 29, 2018 in Rogers, Arkansas at the age of 78.
Jim is survived by his wife, of 54 ½ years, Alice of the home, daughter; Cathy Grover and husband Alan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, son; Mike Fisk and wife Lori of Springdale, Arkansas, seven grandchildren; Bradley Grover Kinder, Alyssa Grover, Kaitlyn O’Brien, Kara Fisk, Hannah Fisk, Zachary Fisk, Corey Fisk, three sisters; Carol Ary, Sue Mayhall, Sandy Pemberton, two brothers; Don Fisk, Bob Fisk, seven sisters-in-law; Melba Davidson, Francis Myers, Bernice Rhodes, Loretta Whitman, Ruth Slankard, Mildred Schrimsher, Nina Goins, and one brother-in-law; Lewis Schrimsher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Angela Faye Fisk, five brothers; Derrell Fisk, Carl Fisk, Gary Fisk, Keith Fisk, Timmy Fisk, two sisters; Ruby Payne, Gail Mayhall, two sisters-in-law; Barbara Carlile, Deborah Lample, and one brother -in-law Howard Eugene Schrimsher.
Jim was former President and part owner of Felix Thomson Company for 42 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he participated in Operation Roller Coaster in Nevada where four nuclear bombs were tested. Jim was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was proud to be a Veteran and to have served his country.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Cavanaugh Freewill Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Reverend Will Harmon and Reverend Robert Hill officiating.
Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma.
The family would like to greet friends Friday evening from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be; Gerald Ortlieb, Ken Franklin, Bradley Grover Kinder, Alan Grover, Mike Verucchi, and Eddie George.
