Jurl Francis Reynolds of Fort Smith, Arkansas was born June 6, 1936 in Cameron, Oklahoma to William Irvin and Lois Alma (Colley) Pendergrass and passed away April 29, 2025 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 88.

Mike Shelton and wife Janie of Howe, Oklahoma

Barbara Frazier of Van Buren, Arkansas

Dorothy Kelley of Fort Smith, Arkansas

15 great-grandchildren

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and a host of friends

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Reynolds; three sisters Edna Bailey, Reba Johnson, and Lou Gail Barnett; two brothers Dink Pendergrass and Buck Pendergrass; and a son-in-law, Mike Stephens.

Jurl, a cherished member of our community, dedicated many years to her work in the sheetrock business alongside her beloved husband. She had a passion for shopping and cooking, and her greatest joy came from being with her family. Jurl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral service to honor Jurl’s life will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May, 2, 2025 at the Dowden-Roberts Cremation Center Chapel in Poteau, Oklahoma with Mr. Jarod Cripps officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Cremation Services of Poteau, Oklahoma. “LeFlore County’s ONLY Onsite Crematory”.

Viewing will be Thursday, May 1st from Noon until 7:00 p.m. and the family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Dowden-Roberts Cremation Center Chapel in Poteau, Oklahoma.
