Graveside Service for Leandra Buelna, Jr, 88 of Wister, Oklahoma will be at 9:00am on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Guss Calvo officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Leandra was born on July 28, 1935 in Houston, Texas to Maria Petronetla and Leandra Buelna, Sr. and passed away on April 9, 2024 in Wister, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, his wife Sandy Buelna; and his brother Rick Latino.
Survivors include his sister Barbara Ketchum; Nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones, and friends.
Leandra served in the Army Airborne Division where he is the last known Rokason. He was a proud Italian with a large family and was of the Catholic Faith.
Leandra was a well known artist, with an art gallery in Houston, Texas before moving to Wister, Oklahoma to live with his niece Donna Ford.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
