Robert Allen Holt, 52, Lifelong resident of Poteau, entered eternal life surrounded by his beloved family and friends on September 7, 2023, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Robert was born on August 21, 1971, to Phillip and Shirley Holt in Fort Smith, Arkansas. On September 7, 2001, Robert married the love of his life Tamatha Holt. They spent 22 years traveling together and enjoyed time spent with family. They settled down in Poteau and built a loving home to raise their children. He loved his boys and Poteau Pirate football. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, working on hot rods, and greatly loved his grandkids, who called him “Popie”. Robert was preceded in death by his Father, Phillip Holt, Grandparents, George and Irene Holt, Grandfather, Ardel Hankins, his In-Laws Floyd and Ann Young, Sister In-Law, Joyce Shackelford, and his best friend, Scotty Price of Poteau.
Robert is survived by his beautiful wife: Tamatha Holt of the home, 5 sons: Bryce Holt and his wife Savana of Wister, Jameson Shackelford of Poteau, Wyatt Holt of the home, Ryker Holt of the home, and Kyle Holt and his wife Summer of Poteau, his Mother: Shirley Holt of Poteau, 4 Grandchildren: Cashton, Ava, and Brystol Holt of Wister and Lakelynn Holt of Poteau, as well as, a host of other family and friends.
The Celebration of Life Services will be held 2pm – Tuesday September 12, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church in Poteau, Oklahoma with Reverend Jim Perkins officiating and burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma. The family will meet and greet friends at Holt Funeral Home from 6 – 8pm Monday September 11, 2023. Casket bearers will be Bryce Holt, Ryker Holt, Wyatt Holt, Jameson Shackleford, Kyle Holt, & Hunter Myers.
