RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s and women’s cross country runners of the week for the opening weekend of the season. Ouachita Baptist’s Caleb Greenwich and Allison Hylkema earned the awards following their performances at the Bob Gravett Invitational

#theGAC MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Caleb Greenwich, Fr., Ouachita Baptist, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Greenwich finished second overall and first among attached runners in his collegiate debut to lead Ouachita Baptist to a team win  with a 27-point margin ahead of second-place Southern Arkansas. He finished in 14:50.82, 27 seconds ahead of teammate, Gabe Metoyer. The Tigers placed seven runners inside the top 10.

#theGAC WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Allison Hylkema, Sr., Ouachita Baptist, Jackson, Tennessee
Hylkema helped the Tigers score an 11-point team victory. She registered a personal record, 18:02.65 as she placed second individually. The Tigers had five runners notch top-10 finishes as they bested three GAC schools – Arkansas Tech, Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello – at the meet.
