RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s track & field athletes of the week for the third week of the outdoor season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Sean Dixon claimed the track award and the Bison’s Evan Olson earned the field honor.

#theGAC MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Sean Dixon, Sr., Oklahoma Baptist, Jacksonville, Florida
Dixon claimed the title in the 400-meter hurdles at the OBU Invitational. He registered an NCAA Provisional time and recorded a personal best of 52.01 seconds. His time ranks as the fastest in the GAC and as the sixth-best in Division II. He ran the opening leg of the Bison’s winning 4×400-meter relay team. The team won with a time of 3:14.57.

#theGAC MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Evan Olson, Gr., Oklahoma Baptist, Gresham, Oregon
Olson broke a 44-year school record in the javelin at the OBU Invitational. He won the meet with a throw of 66.69 meters, more than 2.5 meters clear of his closest competitor. He broke the record of Don Phillips, 64.40 meters, set in 1981. His throw earned him an NCAA Provisional mark and currently ranks ninth in Division II.
